Accessibility
Every effort is made to accommodate visitors with special needs. Because of the historic period and age of many of our tour buildings, some areas may not be fully accessible to visitors with physical disabilities.
Our Visitors Center is completely accessible to all visitors. Auxiliary aids include:
- A large print guide to the museum displays.
- Easily accessible restrooms that are fully ADA compliant.
- A wheelchair is available upon request.
The first floor of Gunston Hall mansion is accessible to all visitors. A wheelchair lift is on the east side of the house. In order to visit the second floor of the house, stairs must be negotiated. For those unable to tour the second floor of the house, there is a book of photographs available for viewing in the Mansion. The plantation grounds surrounding the Mansion are relatively flat and the garden is accessible, with gravel pathways through the boxwoods.
