Gunston Hall's Education Department
Interpreting George Mason and his world for the public is the work of the staff, house guides, school docents, and living historians of Gunston Hall's education department. We examine George Mason and his political contributions to Virginia and the nation, the impact of Mason's work in his day and in the years beyond, up to our present age, and Mason's vision for creating the mansion and landscape at Gunston Hall. We bring to life the everyday activities on the plantation for Mason's family, his servants, and enslaved workers.
